Service Description

Whole Genome Sequencing is the absolute Gold Standard of DNA Tests. A once in a lifetime investment that analyses your entire DNA. With this extremely powerful Master Asset you can run as many genetic queries about yourself as you like. This Next Generation WGS is clinical grade at 30x coverage. This means that it analyses all 6 Billion Base Pairs of your DNA found in single somatic cell. Results take around 5-6 weeks to come back after we receive your sample. You will then get immediate access to your Clinical Grade Raw Data available in FASTQ, BAM or VCF format. Doctors and Physicians are able to confidently use your Clinical Grade Raw Data to make informed decisions in order to determine a diagnosis or inaugurate a plausible treatment plan What is your DNA? From the size of your feet to the colour of your hair, these instructions are all part of your natural genetic make up which makes you. What is a Whole Genome? One complete set of instructions is called a genome. These instructions are written in “letters” called base pairs. A human genome has around 3 billion base pairs. Your body is made up of trillions of cells. Each of these cells has two copies of your genome. So in total you have 6 Billion base pairs in each somatic cell. Whats is Clinical Grade 30x Coverage? WGS has to analyse a huge number of base pairs. Each time the sequence is run it has to check 6 billon base pairs. In case the whole genome sequence fails to read any of those important letters that make up those base pairs, we run the test over and over again. To ensure the highest level of accuracy we run the test 30 times, which is what is know as 30x coverage.
